We are seeking a highly motivated, talented and experienced Hardware designer to play a pivotal role in the development of our next-generation power electronics systems, from concept to reference design and physical prototyping.

The ideal candidate has track-record of successfully leading the definition, development, validation and integration for power solutions (1 – 100s kW) which seamlessly combine several power converters (AC-DC, DC-AC, DC-DC), multiple MCUs/MPUs (ARM Cortex-A/M, Renesas proprietary core) and numerous sensors.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the entire proof-of-concept lifecycle, from defining the architecture and selecting suitable parts, to supervising the integration of both hardware and software.

Deep knowledge in Power Management, Infrastructure Power Delivery Network and Server/Datacenter power architectures will make you successful in this role.

Exceptional communication skills will help you interacting with customers, but also working with both System and Chip Design Teams Engineers to ensure in our worldwide, customer-oriented, expanding team.

This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent between the office and working from home.

Role Responsibilities





In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Define complex power electronics system architectures (1 - 250 kW) which meet electrical performances, reliability, and cost requirements focusing on Infrastructure and Servers/Datacenter
- Perform trade-off studies and select optimal solution in regards of system size (i.e., power density), cost and performances.
- Develop detailed system specifications and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Select the best Renesas Power Products among released and sampled ICs to meet system requirements and resolve customers’ technical issues.
- Break-down large and complex power electronic systems into modular and scalable sub-systems to meet Efficiency and Power Density requirements of contemporary Communications and Datacenter infrastructures
- Modelling and simulation of complex power electronics systems in MATLAB Simulink (preferred system-simulation tool).
- Lead the development of Proof-of-Concept Boards from schematic implementation to system validation stages.
- Effectively manage project timelines, engineering resources and budget.
- Monitor market trends and contribute to both Solutions and IC design roadmap for Datacenter and Infrastructure Power Supply Systems, Power Products (Voltage Regulators, Power Supply Controllers, Gate-Drivers, Discrete Power Switches).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, e.g. Business Development Team, Sales Team, Power Product design, both Hardware and Software development team, external vendors, to ensure seamless system definition, integration and promotion.
