Job Title: Senior Okta Engineer / Senior IAM Consultant (Okta)

Experience: 5 7 years of hands-on Okta implementation, configuration, integration, and production support experience
Working Hours: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM EST, Monday to Friday
Primary Focus: Workforce Identity, Single Sign-On, Multi-Factor Authentication, and Identity Lifecycle Management

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Okta professional to design, implement, integrate, and support enterprise identity and access management solutions. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Okta Workforce Identity, including Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Universal Directory, Lifecycle Management, and application integrations.

The successful candidate will work directly with US-based clients, application owners, infrastructure teams, and security stakeholders to translate business requirements into secure and reliable identity solutions. This is a hands-on engineering and consulting role requiring independent delivery, strong troubleshooting skills, and clear client communication.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

1. Okta Implementation and Configuration

- Gather business and security requirements and translate them into solution designs and implementation plans.

- Configure and administer Okta Identity Engine, including tenant settings, administrative roles, authentication policies, and directory integrations.

- Manage Universal Directory, user profiles, attribute mappings, group rules, and application assignments.

- Apply least-privilege principles and recommend improvements to platform security and reliability.

2. Single Sign-On and Application Integration

- Integrate SaaS, on-premises, and custom applications using SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, and OAuth 2.0.





- Configure Okta Integration Network and custom integrations, including authentication flows, claims, attribute mappings, and redirect URIs.

- Troubleshoot SSO issues and manage signing certificates, application secrets, and renewals.

- Own application onboarding from discovery through testing, production deployment, and stabilization.

3. MFA and Authentication Policies

- Configure MFA, authenticator enrollment, Okta Verify, FastPass, and passwordless authentication.

- Implement authentication and session controls based on user, group, network, device, and risk conditions.

- Troubleshoot authentication, enrollment, and account recovery issues while maintaining a secure, practical user experience.

4. Identity Lifecycle Management

- Implement joiner, mover, and leaver processes, including automated provisioning and deprovisioning.

- Configure Active Directory integrations, SCIM connectors, profile sourcing, attribute transformations, and Group Push.

- Resolve provisioning, account matching, and synchronization issues.

- Collaborate with SailPoint, Saviynt, or other IGA teams on lifecycle and governance integrations.

5. Automation and Integration

- Build Okta Workflows and use REST APIs and scripts to automate identity and administrative processes.

- Integrate with ServiceNow and other enterprise platforms as required.

- Develop reusable scripts, configuration templates, and onboarding checklists with appropriate logging and error handling.

6. Production Support and Troubleshooting

- Provide advanced support for authentication,



federation, provisioning, and directory integration issues.

- Analyze Okta System Logs, SAML traces, browser activity, and API responses to identify root causes.

- Coordinate with client teams and Okta Support to implement lasting fixes.

- Execute production changes with impact assessments, testing, rollback plans, and post-deployment validation.

7. Client Delivery and Documentation

- Lead technical discussions and application onboarding workshops with client stakeholders.

- Maintain solution designs, configuration documents, test cases, and operational runbooks.

- Support integration testing, UAT, and production readiness reviews.

- Communicate delivery status and risks, provide knowledge transfer, and mentor junior engineers.

- Contribute to estimates, proposals, and demonstrations as needed.

Mandatory Qualifications and Skills

- 5 7 years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting Okta in enterprise environments.

- Strong expertise in Okta Workforce Identity, Identity Engine, Universal Directory, SSO, MFA, and Lifecycle Management.

- Practical knowledge of SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SCIM.

- Experience integrating SaaS and custom applications, Active Directory, and automated provisioning processes.

- Hands-on experience with Okta Workflows, REST APIs, and scripting in PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript.

- Solid troubleshooting skills across authentication, application integrations, and directory synchronization.

- Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, TLS certificates, DNS, and relevant networking concepts.

- Experience managing production changes and independently owning technical deliverables.

- Strong documentation and communication skills, including direct engagement with US-based stakeholders.

- Availability to work 8:00 AM 4:00 PM EST, Monday to Friday.
