Job Description

We are looking for an L1 PostgreSQL DBA with 2+ years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration and production support. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring database environments, handling basic troubleshooting, and supporting day-to-day database operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor PostgreSQL databases and ensure database availability and performance.
- Perform basic database administration and production support activities.
- Monitor database health, CPU, memory, disk space, connections, and database sessions.
- Handle user creation, access management, roles, and permissions.
- Perform basic backup and restore activities.
- Monitor scheduled jobs, replication status, and database alerts.
- Troubleshoot basic PostgreSQL issues and escalate complex issues to the L2/L3 DBA team.
- Perform database health checks and routine maintenance activities.
- Monitor logs and identify database errors or performance issues.
- Support incident, request, and change management processes.
- Maintain proper documentation of incidents, changes, and database activities.




- Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams for database-related issues.

Required Skills

- 2+ years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration.
- Good understanding of PostgreSQL architecture and database concepts.
- Knowledge of SQL and basic query troubleshooting.
- Experience with PostgreSQL monitoring and performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of backup and restore procedures.
- Understanding of users, roles, privileges, and access management.
- Basic knowledge of replication and high-availability concepts.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in a production support environment.

Good to Have

- Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL tools and utilities such as psql, pg_dump, and pg_restore.
- Exposure to monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
- Basic understanding of cloud database environments.

Candidate Profile

- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Comfortable working in a 24x7 production support setting, if required.
- Willing to work from the Navi Mumbai location.
- Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period would be preferred.
