- Receive, verify, accession, and appropriately process histopathology specimens.
- Perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, sectioning, and routine H&E; staining.
- Handle special stains and assist with immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures as per laboratory protocols.
- Ensure proper specimen identification, labeling, tracking, and documentation at every stage.
- Prepare high-quality slides and maintain consistency in staining and section quality.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot histopathology equipment including tissue processors, embedding stations, microtomes, automated stainers, and related instruments.
- Perform quality control checks and ensure adherence to defined SOPs and quality parameters.
- Coordinate with pathologists regarding specimen quality, slide preparation, repeat sections, and special investigations.




- Maintain accurate records of samples, blocks, slides, reagents, QC, and equipment maintenance.
- Monitor reagent and consumable inventory and coordinate timely replenishment.
- Follow biosafety, infection-control, biomedical waste management, and laboratory safety guidelines.
- Participate in internal quality assurance, audits, CAP/NABL-related activities, and corrective/preventive actions where applicable.
- Ensure timely turnaround time (TAT) for all assigned cases.
- Support implementation and adherence to laboratory policies and process improvements.
- Train and guide junior technicians/trainees on histopathology procedures when required.
