Position Overview

The Manager Purchase & Stores will be responsible for managing the complete purchase and stores function at the Ankleshwar manufacturing facility.

The role requires strong experience in procurement, vendor management, inventory control, warehouse/store management, ERP and material planning, along with the ability to coordinate closely with Production, Planning, QA/QC, Finance and Management.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a factory/plant environment and should have a practical understanding of procurement and inventory requirements in manufacturing industries.

Key Responsibilities

1. Purchase & Procurement

- Manage the complete procurement cycle from Purchase Requisition (PR) to Purchase Order (PO) and final material receipt.
- Identify, evaluate and develop reliable vendors for raw materials, consumables, packaging materials, chemicals, engineering items and other plant requirements.
- Negotiate with vendors regarding price, payment terms, quality, delivery schedules and lead times.
- Obtain quotations, compare commercial terms and prepare comparative statements for management approval.
- Develop alternate vendors and sourcing options to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Monitor open POs and follow up with vendors for timely deliveries.
- Resolve issues related to quality, shortages, delayed deliveries, price discrepancies and rejected materials.

2. Stores & Inventory Management

- Manage day-to-day stores and warehouse operations at the manufacturing plant.
- Ensure proper receipt, inspection, storage, identification and issuance of materials.
- Maintain accurate physical and ERP inventory records.
- Monitor minimum/maximum stock levels, reorder levels and inventory ageing.
- Coordinate with Production and Planning teams for material requirements and timely availability.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies with ERP records.
- Control excess inventory, slow-moving and non-moving materials.
- Ensure proper documentation for material receipts, issues,



transfers and returns.

3. Vendor Management

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, delivery and service.
- Coordinate vendor development and periodic supplier reviews.
- Support vendor audits and compliance activities along with QA/QC and other concerned departments.
- Maintain proper vendor documentation and records.

4. Material Planning & Coordination

- Work closely with Production, Planning, QA/QC, Finance and Engineering teams to understand material requirements.
- Plan procurement based on production schedules and inventory availability.
- Ensure timely availability of critical materials to avoid production delays.
- Track material consumption and identify potential shortages in advance.
- Support inventory optimization and working-capital control.

5. ERP & Documentation

- Maintain purchase and inventory transactions accurately in the ERP system.
- Generate and monitor purchase orders, GRNs, stock records and other relevant documents.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of materials.
- Prepare periodic MIS/reports related to purchase, inventory, vendor performance and material movement.

6. Compliance & Inventory Control

- Ensure proper systems and controls are followed for material handling and inventory management.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive business and procurement information.
- Ensure proper authorization and documentation for material receipt and issuance.
- Support internal/external audits and management requirements related to purchase and stores.

Preferred Candidate Profile

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in:

- Packaging / Flexible Packaging industry
- Chemical manufacturing / Chemical Engineering background




- Specialty materials or manufacturing industries
- Pharma packaging / printing-related manufacturing
- Industrial manufacturing with significant raw-material procurement
- Candidates with exposure to films, foils, inks, adhesives, chemicals, packaging materials or other specialty raw materials will be preferred.

Candidates should have strong hands-on factory/plant experience, rather than purely office-based procurement experience.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Commerce or a related field.
- MBA / PG qualification in Supply Chain, Operations or related areas will be an added advantage.

Relocation Support

Candidates willing to relocate to Ankleshwar may be provided 2-3 days of accommodation/stay support after joining to facilitate relocation.
