Pharmacist – Job Description

Role Summary
Responsible for managing pharmacy operations, dispensing medicines accurately, maintaining inventory and ensuring compliance with hospital pharmacy policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Review prescriptions and dispense medicines accurately.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals regarding medication requirements.
- Maintain proper storage and records of medicines, including controlled and narcotic drugs.
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates and medicine returns.
- Prepare Purchase Orders and GRN for pharmacy requirements.
- Arrange medicines that are unavailable through nearby authorized chemists when required.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and conduct periodic stock verification.
- Handle pharmacy-related cash collections and ensure timely handover to the cashier.
- Follow all applicable hospital policies, medication safety procedures and pharmacy practices.
