Job Description: Assistant Manager Purchase

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Manager – Purchase to join our team in Chakan, Pune. The successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end procurement of direct materials, optimize inventory levels, and foster strong supplier relationships to ensure seamless manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Direct Material Procurement: Execute direct material procurement aligned with production schedules, customer demand, and plant timelines.
- Purchase Order Management: Release, track, and manage Purchase Orders (POs) and open order records.
- Inventory Control: Maintain optimal inventory levels, prevent stock-outs, and drive initiatives to reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
- Vendor Development & Management: Build and maintain solid supplier relationships, coordinate supplier development programs, and evaluate supplier performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Production Planning, Stores, Quality, Engineering, Logistics,



and Import teams to ensure timely material deliveries and cost optimization.
- S&OP; Participation: Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP;) reviews and recommend planning process improvements.
- Systems & Compliance: Maintain accurate supplier master data in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and ensure full compliance with company policies, regulatory, and trade standards.
- Reporting: Maintain MIS documentation and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking for management reviews.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: B.Tech / B.E. (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Industrial), or B.Com / BBA / BMS / MBA in Supply Chain or Logistics Management.
- Experience: 7.5 to 8 years of relevant procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
- ERP Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP (MM module).
- Technical & Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving capabilities to resolve supplier issues, material shortages, and procurement bottlenecks.
- Soft Skills: Excellent English communication, high ethical standards, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
