About the Role

We are looking for a Java Backend Developer with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot. You will work with the engineering team to build and maintain backend services and APIs, solve application issues, and deliver reliable features. The role is suited to developers with strong backend fundamentals who are interested in growing their knowledge of modern AdTech platforms and emerging AI technologies.

What You Will Do

- Develop and maintain backend applications and REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Understand requirements and translate them into clear, maintainable implementation.
- Write clean and testable code and participate in peer code reviews.
- Work with relational databases and write efficient SQL queries.
- Write unit tests and support integration testing of developed features.
- Use Git and standard development workflows for day-to-day engineering work.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and fix application defects and production issues.
- Collaborate with QA, frontend, DevOps/SRE, and other team members during development and releases.
- Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and technical discussions.
- Take ownership of assigned features and communicate risks or blockers in a timely manner.

Core Skills & Experience

- 3-5 years of professional experience in Java backend development.
- Good understanding of Java, object-oriented programming, collections, exception handling, and basic design principles.




- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and REST API development.
- Good working knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or similar unit-testing tools.
- Working knowledge of Maven or Gradle and Git.
- Basic understanding of microservices or service-based application architecture.
- Ability to debug application issues using logs and common development tools.
- Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred / Positive to Have

- Exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Exposure to messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, or NoSQL/cache technologies such as MongoDB or Redis.
- Knowledge of the AdTech ecosystem, programmatic advertising, DOOH/CTV, or related digital advertising platforms.
- Exposure to Prebid, OpenRTB, ad serving, bidding, or auction-based advertising workflows.
- Interest in or exposure to Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, or AI/ML concepts.
- Any experience integrating AI APIs/SDKs into applications will be an advantage.

- Troubleshoots issues methodically and collaborates well with the wider engineering team.
- Continues building deeper backend, AdTech, and modern technology skills over time.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent practical software engineering experience may also be considered.
