Role Overview: ONWARD TECHNOLOGIES is seeking an experienced Instrumentation SmartPlant 3D (S3D) Designer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. The successful candidate will produce instrument deliverables and layouts, wiring and loop drawings, JB schedules, cable routing, hook ups, and installation details in compliance with project and IEC/ISA standards. In addition, the candidate will support 3D instrumentation modelling activities using SmartPlant 3D (S3D).

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare instrument index updates, I/O lists, location plans, and instrument layouts.
- Develop cable block diagrams, wiring termination drawings, loop diagrams, marshalling cabinet GA and JB schedules.
- Create typical hook ups, instrument support details, impulse tubing layouts, and pneumatic lines.
- Prepare control room layouts, panel GAs, console arrangements, and cable tray routing.
- Extract BoMs/MTOs and support quantity take offs and construction work packs.
- Coordinate with process, electrical,



and piping for nozzle orientations and tapping points.
- Perform 3D modelling of instrument supports, cabling, JB layouts, and impulse lines in S3D.
- Integrate instrument data into S3D model and ensure consistency with P&IDs; and AutoCAD deliverables.
- Generate 3D model-based deliverables, including isometric drawings, clash reports, and cable tray routing.
- Required Skills & Experience
- 12+ years of Instrument design drafting in Oil & Gas or Chemicals.
- Proficiency with SmartPlant 3D (S3D), exposure to SPI/INtools or AVEVA Instrumentation.
- Hands-on experience in SmartPlant 3D (S3D) instrumentation modelling.
- Familiar with ISA symbology, IEC 60079 (hazardous area), and grounding/shielding practices.
- Understanding of DCS/PLC system architecture, fieldbus, and cabinet design basics.
- Knowledge of interdisciplinary coordination in a 3D design workplace.
- Education / Certification
- Diploma/Degree in Instrumentation / E&TC; / Electrical or equivalent.
- S3D/Smart Plant 3D training or certification in instrumentation discipline preferred.
