SBU Head Biogas Plants (BOO) & Technology Supply

Role Purpose

The SBU Head will be responsible for building and leading two key business verticals:

1. Biogas/CBG Plants on BOO Basis – Identification, development, financing, construction, ownership and long-term operation of CBG/biogas plants developed by the company/SPVs.

2. Technology Supply – Business development and supply of specialized technologies and equipment for CBG/biogas projects across India.

The role will carry overall responsibility for business development, project development, technology partnerships, project economics, execution, operations and profitability of the SBU.

Key Responsibilities

BOO Biogas/CBG Projects

- Identify and develop commercially viable opportunities for setting up CBG/biogas plants on a BOO basis.

- Identify suitable locations based on feedstock availability, logistics, land, infrastructure, gas offtake and overall project economics.

- Coordinate with the agricultural residue aggregation team for long-term feedstock availability and supply planning.

- Develop feasibility studies, DPRs, financial models and project implementation plans.

- Coordinate land acquisition/allocation, statutory approvals, government permissions and incentives.

- Develop appropriate project/SPV structures for individual BOO projects.

- Work closely with investors, lenders, financial institutions and strategic partners for project financing.

- Finalize EPC, technology, equipment and other project partners.

- Drive projects from concept through financial closure, construction, commissioning and commercial operation.

- Ensure sustainable plant performance, gas production, feedstock security and long-term profitability.

Technology & Equipment Supply

- Develop the market for the company’s technology portfolio for CBG/biogas plants.

- Lead customer discussions, technical evaluation and preparation of techno-commercial proposals.





- Develop opportunities with project developers, EPC companies, industrial groups and other CBG/biogas companies.

- Manage the complete commercial cycle from enquiry and proposal to negotiation, PO, advance payment, supply, installation and commissioning.

- Work closely with Indian and international technology partners.

- Develop business for feedstock pre-treatment, extrusion, ultrasound and other technologies added to the company’s portfolio.

- Ensure strong technical and after-sales support to customers.

Business & P&L; Responsibility

- Prepare annual and long-term business plans for the SBU.

- Own revenue, profitability, cash flow and overall P&L; of the SBU.

- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of BOO projects and technology sales opportunities.

- Establish monthly, quarterly and annual business targets.

- Monitor project CAPEX, OPEX, margins, collections and return on investment.

Partnerships & Stakeholder Management

- Build relationships with investors, banks, financial institutions, government agencies, OMCs, EPC companies, technology providers and project partners.

- Develop strategic partnerships for financing, technology, EPC, gas offtake and other requirements.

- Represent the company in industry forums, conferences and customer discussions.

Team Leadership

- Build and lead a solid team covering business development, project development, engineering, technology sales and project operations.

- Establish clear ownership and measurable KPIs for each function.

- Ensure close coordination with the Feedstock Aggregation, Finance, Operations and Management teams.

Preferred Profile

- Engineering background, preferably Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Agricultural, Energy or related discipline.

- Preferably 12–18+ years of relevant experience in biogas, CBG, renewable energy, infrastructure, waste-to-energy or similar project businesses.

- Strong understanding of project development and BOO/BOOT infrastructure models.

- Experience in project financing, financial modelling, DPRs, EPC contracting and project execution.

- Good understanding of anaerobic digestion, feedstock management, gas upgrading and associated CBG technologies.

- Strong techno-commercial and negotiation capabilities.

- Experience working with investors, lenders, government agencies, OMCs, EPC companies and technology providers.

- Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build a business vertical from the ground up.

Reporting

Reports to: CEO / President

Location

Delhi NCR, with extensive travel across project locations in India.

Role Expectation

This is an SBU leadership and P&L; ownership role, not merely a technology sales position. The person will be expected to take complete ownership of developing the company’s BOO CBG/biogas portfolio—from identifying a project opportunity and securing feedstock, land, financing and offtake through construction, commissioning and profitable long-term operation—while simultaneously building the company’s technology supply business.
