Chief Accounting Officer - CA - 12+ Years - Pune

We are hiring for a senior finance leadership opportunity with a leading global alternative asset manager. The role will be responsible for building and scaling the finance capability in India, strengthening financial control, statutory and regulatory reporting, and driving finance transformation initiatives. The position will partner closely with global finance leadership and play a key role in developing a high-performing finance function in Pune.

Location - Pune.

Responsibilities -

1. Lead the ongoing development and scaling of the India Group Finance team in Pune, initially focusing on legal entity control and expanding into Supplier Solutions, FP&A;, Revenue and Cost Control, Balance Sheet Investments and substantiation, regulatory returns and financial reporting.
2. Partner closely with senior global Finance leadership and colleagues in London on the development and delivery of the finance capability in Pune.
3. Act as a trusted advisor to CFOs, Heads of Finance and Controllers across the organisation.
4. Drive finance transformation initiatives from India and promote the adoption of global best practices.
5. Build capabilities, scale teams and drive operational excellence across the finance function.
6. Contribute to the monthly Group financial control close process, including data preparation, ERP accounting outputs,



analytical reviews and substantiation checks.
7. Deliver timely and accurate monthly cost reporting, providing insights into cost drivers and variances against prior periods and budgets.
8. Review and oversee regulatory reporting for regulated entities, covering areas such as accounting, capital, liquidity and assets under management.

Requirements -

1. 12+ years of post-qualified experience in Financial Reporting, Financial Regulatory Reporting and/or Financial Control.
2. Qualified Chartered Accountant.
3. Experience within publicly listed organisations, asset managers, private equity/venture capital, financial services and/or Tier I consulting or professional services firms.
4. Strong IFRS GAAP experience, including experience in producing IFRS-compliant annual financial statements.
5. Familiarity with risk and control self-assessment frameworks such as RCSA and SOX compliance.
6. Strong leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to build finance capabilities, scale teams and drive operational excellence.
7. Willingness to travel internationally at least twice a year for approximately one to two weeks to work with global colleagues in European offices.
