Job Role – (Manager)Job Title: Manager / Subject Matter Expert (SME) –Band B ((i) Develops departmental plans and controls resources and policy formulation. Mentors/develops junior staff. (ii)Specialise high level expertise in productive high value role - senior qualified professional. Recognised expert, best practice/quality resource within own discipline.)Experience Required: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Insurance Underwriting (Commercial)Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (required)Role Overview: The Manager / Subject Matter Expert (SME) is a senior skilled responsible for delivering high-value, complex functional expertise while managing teams and contributing to departmental strategy. This role involves policy formulation, resource planning, and process governance,



along with mentoring and developing junior staff. The SME is recognized as a best practice and quality expert within the discipline and plays a key role in stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:• Sound understanding of Insurance life cycle with extensive knowledge of commercial underwriting• Develop and implement departmental plans, ensuring optimal utilization of resources• Contribute to policy formulation and process improvements within the function• Handle high-complexity, high-value operational tasks with accuracy and efficiency• Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on best practices and quality standards• Mentor, coach, and develop junior team members to enhance capability and performance• Manage and oversee team deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality and TAT standards• Engage in middle-level client interactions, addressing queries and providing solutions• Analyze complex accounting or operational scenarios and manage process variations effectively• Work closely with stakeholders across regions, including UK and local management• Identify risks, escalate issues proactively, and drive resolution Skills & Competencies:• Deep functional expertise in operations and domain knowledge• Strong understanding of Insurance systems and processes• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities• High level of discretion and decision-making capability• Proven people management and leadership experience• Ability to interpret and manage process variations, especially in accounting workflows• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills• Ability to articulate complex issues clearly to senior, UK, and local management (verbal & written)o Focus on quality, governance, and process excellence
