Role & responsibilities

1. Test Planning and Quality Assurance

- Own the end-to-end QA process for the Myfuel application.
- Develop test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases.
- Review business requirements, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Identify functional gaps, edge cases, integration risks, and potential business-impacting defects.
- Ensure appropriate test coverage across new features, enhancements, and existing functionality.
- Establish and maintain QA standards, processes, and best practices.
- Participate in release planning and provide quality assessments before deployment.

2. Hands-on Functional and Manual Testing

- Perform hands-on functional, regression, integration, system, and exploratory testing.
- Validate workflows related to fuel procurement, delivery, transfers, and operational tracking.
- Test user roles, permissions, workflows, notifications, invoices, delivery tickets, and reports.
- Verify calculations involving fuel quantities, pricing, costs, revenue, and profitability.
- Identify data inconsistencies, duplicate records, incorrect calculations, and workflow failures.
- Conduct negative testing and boundary-value testing to identify potential production issues.
- Validate responsive behavior and compatibility across supported browsers and devices, where applicable.

3. Test Automation

- Evaluate, develop, and maintain automated test cases based on project requirements and priorities.
- Identify repetitive, high-risk, and regression-prone scenarios suitable for automation.
- Contribute to the development of a scalable and maintainable automation framework.
- Integrate automated tests into the development and release process where applicable.
- Analyze automation failures and distinguish between application defects, test issues, and environment-related failures.
- Ensure automated test scripts remain reliable, maintainable, and aligned with product changes.

Automation framework and tool selection will be based on the project's technical requirements and the candidate's relevant experience.

4. API and Backend Testing

- Perform API testing for application services and backend integrations.
- Validate request and response structures, status codes, authentication, authorization, and error handling.
- Verify data consistency between frontend applications, APIs, and databases.
- Test positive, negative, boundary, and failure scenarios for APIs.
- Investigate integration issues across different services and application components.
- Use appropriate API testing tools such as Postman or equivalent solutions.

5. Database and Data Validation

- Write and execute SQL queries for data verification and testing.
- Validate data integrity across relevant database tables and application workflows.
- Verify record creation, updates, deletions, relationships, and transaction consistency.
- Identify data duplication, missing records, incorrect mappings, and calculation discrepancies.




- Support backend troubleshooting by collaborating with developers and technical teams.

6. Hardware and System Integration Testing

- Support testing of integrations between the Myfuel application and associated hardware devices.
- Validate data received from hardware devices and its representation within the application.
- Test connectivity, data transmission, device-related workflows, and failure scenarios.
- Assist in identifying issues involving hardware, network connectivity, APIs, and application processing.
- Collaborate with developers and hardware teams to reproduce and troubleshoot integration defects.

7. Performance, Reliability, and Security Awareness

- Identify performance risks in critical application workflows.
- Support load, stress, and reliability testing where required.
- Test application behavior under high data volumes and concurrent user activity.
- Identify common security-related issues involving authentication, authorization, access control, and sensitive data.
- Work with the development team to investigate performance bottlenecks and system reliability issues.

8. Defect Management and Reporting

- Log, track, prioritize, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Provide clear and detailed defect reports with reproduction steps, expected results, actual results, and supporting evidence.
- Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Perform defect retesting and regression testing after fixes.
- Monitor defect trends, recurring issues, and release-related risks.
- Prepare QA status reports, test execution reports, and release-readiness updates for stakeholders.

9. Team Leadership and Mentoring

- Lead and coordinate the QA team's daily testing activities.
- Allocate testing tasks based on team members' skills, workload, and release priorities.
- Review test cases, test scenarios, and testing deliverables prepared by team members.
- Mentor QA engineers in testing methodologies, debugging, automation, and quality practices.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and encourage continuous improvement.
- Monitor testing progress and communicate risks, dependencies, and blockers.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and technical evaluation of QA team members when required.
- Promote accountability, collaboration, and consistent testing standards across the team.

10. Cross-functional Collaboration

- Work closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, project managers, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in sprint planning, refinement meetings, daily stand-ups,



sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Clarify requirements and identify ambiguities before development and testing.
- Provide timely feedback on product quality, usability, and potential business risks.
- Support production issue investigation and root-cause analysis.
- Contribute to improving the overall software development and release process.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Skills

- 812 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
- Solid experience in manual testing, functional testing, regression testing, and integration testing.
- Experience in designing comprehensive test strategies, scenarios, and test cases.
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman or equivalent.
- Strong SQL and database testing skills.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira or equivalent.
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Practical exposure to test automation and automation framework development.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Understanding of CI/CD workflows and their application to testing.

Automation and Programming

- Experience with at least one automation framework, such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or an equivalent tool.
- Programming experience in Python, Java, JavaScript, or another relevant language.
- Ability to create reusable, maintainable, and scalable automation scripts.
- Experience identifying suitable test cases for automation.
- Understanding of automation execution, reporting, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Skills

- Experience testing logistics, transportation, fuel management, ERP, or other operational platforms.
- Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter, Locust, or equivalent.
- Experience testing hardware-software integrations or IoT-based applications.
- Familiarity with Docker, cloud environments, or CI/CD tools.
- Experience with mobile application testing, if applicable.
- Knowledge of application security testing fundamentals.
- Experience working with systems that handle high transaction volumes and large datasets.
