Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Technical Architect to design and build an enterprise-grade Payment Processing Platform from scratch for a US-based Debt Settlement business. You will own the entire technical architecture, integrating the payment engine seamlessly with a core CRM, banking APIs, and ACH/NACHA networks while ensuring financial ledger integrity, fault tolerance, and security compliance.

1. FinTech & Payment Core:
- Proven experience architecting payment processing engines, payment gateways, or orchestration platforms from the ground up.
- Direct experience with ACH processing, NACHA file formats, ACH return codes, reversals, and settlements.
- Deep knowledge of Banking APIs, processor integrations,



and multi-tenant sub-account/wallet management.

- Ledgers & Financial Integrity:

- Hands-on design of double-entry bookkeeping or transactional ledger systems (credits, debits, pending balances, settlements, fee allocation).
- Designing automated end-to-end reconciliation workflows and transaction state machines.

- Backend & Integration Engineering:

- Solid technical stack: Node.js, TypeScript, or Python paired with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Framework familiarity: Nest.js or Next.js.
- Production-grade integration experience: REST APIs, bidirectional webhooks, API versioning, and strict idempotency / duplicate-prevention design.

- Distributed Systems & Cloud:

- Event-driven architectures using message brokers: Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS.
- In-memory caching/state handling via Redis.
- Cloud & DevOps: AWS / Azure / GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and disaster recovery.

- Security & Financial Compliance:

- Architecture alignment with PCI DSS, SOC 2, GLBA, OAuth2/JWT tokenization, RBAC, and end-to-end data encryption.
