Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Foreman

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer / Foreman to oversee the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and daily operation of mechanical machinery and equipment at the plant/site. The role ensures minimal equipment downtime, optimal production efficiency and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualification

Diploma or B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

3 to 8+ years of hands-on experience in plant maintenance, fabrication or mechanical shop floor supervision. Experience in manufacturing or environmental engineering plants preferred.

Reporting To : Operations Manager / Plant Head

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance Operations

- Supervise daily plant machinery operations, preventive maintenance schedules and breakdown repairs.

- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults in pumps, motors, compressors, piping systems, heavy equipment and environmental treatment plant machinery.

- Inspect machinery regularly to ensure smooth functionality and identify wear and tear early.

Erection Installation

- Assist in the installation, assembly,



testing and commissioning of new plant machinery and structural fabrication.

- Review mechanical drawings, PIDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and technical layouts before execution.

Workforce Supervision Safety

- Lead, assign duties to and supervise mechanical technicians, welders and fitters on the shop floor or site.

- Enforce strict compliance with workplace safety standards, PPE usage and environmental regulations.

- Maintain maintenance logs, shift handovers, spare parts inventory and equipment maintenance records.

Qualifications and Skills

- Robust knowledge of pumps, piping, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes and heavy machinery.

- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.

- Hands-on expertise in breakdown troubleshooting, preventive maintenance routines and welding/fabrication processes.

- Strong leadership, problem-solving under pressure, clear communication and team management skills.
