About the Role: We are seeking an Associate (Legal) to join our Legal Ops & Litigation Support vertical, dedicated to a leading global automotive manufacturer client. The Associate will be responsible for evaluating automotive warranty defense claims/cases, applying contractual, regulatory, and policy frameworks to assess claim validity, liability, and risk exposure, and recommending appropriate resolution paths (buyback, cash claim, or defense). This is a client-facing delivery role requiring solid analytical ability, attention to detail, and familiarity with legal pleadings and warranty documentation.

Basic training will be provided, but a lot of self-learning and hard work would be required to scale up.

Role & responsibilities

- Review and assess vehicle warranty claims
- Check claims against warranty terms and consumer protection laws (including lemon laws)
- Study supporting documents (repair orders, service records, technical bulletins, inspection reports) to decide if a claim is valid
- Spot repeat problems, possible fraud, or patterns, and suggest what should happen next (buyback, cash payment, or contesting the claim)
- Write clear, easy-to-understand summaries and recommendations for the client
- Keep case trackers updated and meet deadlines
- Work with internal quality checkers when needed
- Follow confidentiality rules, quality standards, and company processes
- Flag tricky or high-risk cases to seniors for a second look
- Help improve templates, processes,



and shared knowledge resources.

Note on role scope: This role currently covers the warranty case evaluation stage of the matter. Depending on business needs, cases may progress to later stages of litigation support (e.g., Answer drafting, Discovery, and Case Management), and the Associate may be moved to support these stages of the same or other matters as required.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB).
- Legal background with basic understanding of legal pleadings and their terminologies.
- 24 years of relevant experience in legal operations, litigation support, warranty claims review, or contract/document reviewer.
- Strong analytical and critical reasoning skills; ability to interpret contracts, policies, and technical documentation
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Word and Excel)
- Basic understanding of automotive industry terminology, warranty structures, or consumer protection laws (preferred, not mandatory).
- High attention to detail and ability to manage volume-driven, deadline-sensitive work.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

- Two-to-four-year experience with any corporate legal department or law firm
- Exposure to or willingness to be trained on other litigation support functions such as Answer drafting, Discovery, and Case Management, as the Associate may be moved across these functions depending on case requirements
