Key Responsibilities

- Produce and lead detailed mechanical designs, equipment layouts, 3D models and engineering drawings using approved project platforms.
- Develop models and drawings for crushers, conveyors, ore passes, winders or hoists, workshops, fixed plant, dewatering and associated underground infrastructure.
- Coordinate ventilation-on-demand systems and mechanical-service interfaces with the relevant ventilation and engineering specialists.
- Manage federated-model coordination and clash detection using Navisworks or an equivalent platform.
- Interpret civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical and process inputs to create fully coordinated mechanical designs suitable for underground environments.
- Manage drawing registers, model deliverables, revision control and document workflows for assigned work packages.
- Lead internal design reviews, check your own work thoroughly and, where authorised, review the work of junior designers.
- Engage with engineers, project managers, vendors and client representatives to resolve technical queries and deliver agreed packages.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

- A diploma,



advanced diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design or drafting.
- At least 8 years' mechanical drafting and design experience, including substantial hard-rock underground mining exposure.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Navisworks, together with relevant experience using Autodesk Advance Steel or an equivalent design platform.
- Experience producing deliverables through pre-feasibility, feasibility, detailed design and construction-support phases.
- Working knowledge of underground materials handling, fixed plant and mine-services interfaces.
- Skilled fluency in written and spoken English and confidence collaborating with international stakeholders.

Desirable

- At least 5 years' focused experience on underground copper or gold projects.
- Experience with Revit, Plant 3D or equivalent 3D plant-design platforms.
- Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and mining/WHS requirements, including standards applicable to machinery, lifting, steelwork and pressure systems.
- Experience mentoring cadet, graduate or intermediate designers.
