Blockmaze | Mumbai, India | Full-time
Experience: 46 years
Target Markets: Europe & GCC
About Blockmaze
The future of finance is moving on-chain. Real-world assets- stocks, bonds, real estate, commodities are being tokenized and brought onto blockchain rails for instant settlement, fractional ownership, and programmable compliance.
But we're at 0.01% category penetration. The market doesn't yet understand what "regulated tokenization" means or why it matters. Most platforms are either crypto-native (unregulated, high-risk) or TradFi incumbents (slow to innovate). Blockmaze is building the regulated infrastructure that bridges both worlds.
We're a tokenization platform for institutional issuers- brokers, wealth managers, family offices, and asset managers, with licenses across 8 jurisdictions (UAE, Bahrain, Cyprus, and more), powered by Finvasia Group's 15 years of financial services infrastructure. We enable issuers to bring real-world assets on-chain with full regulatory compliance, banking-grade custody, and audit-backed reserves.
This is category-building, not just brand-building. We're defining what tokenization means for the next decade of institutional finance.
About the Role
You'll build Blockmaze's earned media engine by making Blockmaze and its founders the go-to voices whenever journalists write about tokenization, regulated crypto, or the future of capital markets.
You'll contribute to both reactive PR (responding to news cycles, securing opportunistic placements) and proactive thought leadership (pitching founder op-eds, placing research reports, building journalist relationships in financial and crypto media). Every major story about tokenization quotes a Blockmaze founder or cites Blockmaze data.
You'll work closely with the Sr. Brand Manager on category-building campaigns and directly with founders on media training, interview prep, and thought leadership content. You'll also manage crisis readiness and coordinate with Legal/Compliance on sensitive announcements.
This is a high-impact role for someone who understands that earned media is credibility at scale- and that the best PR doesn't feel like PR.
Experience and Skills
Required:
- 4–6 years in PR/communications, with at least 2 years in fintech, financial services, or Web 3.
- Proven track record securing placements in Tier-1 business/financial media (Bloomberg, Reuters, FT, WSJ, or regional equivalents like AGBI, Asian Banker,
Gulf News, The Hindu Business Line)
- Solid media relationships- you know how to pitch journalists and understand what makes a story newsworthy.
- Experience building founder personal brands and securing bylined thought leadership placements.
- Exceptional writer - you can draft press releases, pitch emails, op-ed outlines, and holding statements with speed and precision
- Comfortable navigating Legal/Compliance review processes for regulated industries
Preferred:
- Experience in regulated industries (banking, securities, wealth management) where compliance and legal review are part of the PR workflow
- Exposure to crypto/blockchain media (CoinDesk, The Block, Cointelegraph) and understand how to navigate both TradFi and crypto press
- GCC or Asia media relationships (AGBI, Khaleej Times, Arabian Business, Asian Banker, DealStreetAsia, Economic Times)
- Crisis communications or issues management experience
You're a fit if:
- You're comfortable being the "bad cop" who tells founders their quote is boring and needs to be rewritten
- You understand how to navigate embargoes, exclusives, and timing around news cycles without burning bridges
- You've lived through a crisis (or near-crisis) and know how to stay calm, communicate clearly, and protect the brand
Key Responsibilities
Thought Leadership and Founder Visibility:
- Build and execute a brand and founder thought leadership programme acrossTier-1 press (Bloomberg Opinion, FT, AGBI, Asian Banker, etc.)
- Position founders as category experts: pitch them as sources for journalist queries, secure speaking slots at top-tier events across Europe and GCC.
- Media train founders: prep for interviews, refine talking points, coach on messaging discipline, run mock interviews before high-stakes appearances
- Build founder LinkedIn presence as an extension of earned media (ghost-write posts that tease op-eds, amplify placements, engage with journalist content)
- Manage PR agency by setting clear goals and directions.
Proactive Media Strategy:
- Pitch Blockmaze-generated research and reports (GCC Tokenization Index, market studies, compliance guides) to financial and crypto journalists
- Identify news hooks and trend opportunities where Blockmaze can provide expert commentary (regulatory changes, competitor moves, market milestones)
- Build relationships with Tier-1 journalists covering tokenization, RWAs, blockchain, fintech, and institutional crypto
- Coordinate exclusives and embargoes for major company announcements (product launches, partnerships, funding rounds, new licenses)
Reactive PR and News Cycle Management:
- Monitor news cycles for relevant hooks (regulatory changes, competitor announcements, market events like BlackRock or JPMorgan tokenization moves) and secure reactive placements
- Draft and distribute press releases for company milestones.
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests - prioritize high-value opportunities, politely decline low-value ones
PR Infrastructure:
- Build media lists segmented by beat (blockchain/crypto, fintech, traditional finance, regional business, tech)
- Maintain press kit, fact sheets, boilerplate messaging, founder bios, and high-res images
- Track media coverage, measure share of voice vs. competitors & report on earned media ROI
- Coordinate with external PR agencies for regional coverage (GCC, Asia, Europe)
Crisis/Issues Readiness:
- Develop crisis communication protocols and holding statements for potential issues (regulatory inquiries, platform incidents, competitor attacks, employee departures)
- Work with Legal and Compliance on approval workflows for sensitive announcements
- Maintain crisis contact lists and escalation procedures
