Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our eye hospital team. The candidate will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients and assisting doctors during ophthalmic procedures and surgeries.
Candidates with experience or working knowledge of Operation Theatre (OT) procedures will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients before, during, and after ophthalmic procedures.
- Prepare patients for surgeries and assist with pre- and post-operative care.
- Assist doctors and surgeons during eye surgeries and procedures.
- Handle and maintain OT instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Follow proper sterilization, infection-control, and OT protocols.
- Prepare and arrange surgical instruments and consumables as required.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any abnormalities to the doctor.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and nursing documentation.
- Ensure proper cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the OT and patient-care areas.
- Coordinate with doctors, OT staff, and other hospital departments for smooth patient care.
- Provide patients and attendants with appropriate instructions regarding pre- and post-operative care.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing registration.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to maintain patient records.
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols.
- OT experience or knowledge of surgical/OT procedures is preferred.
- Experience in an eye hospital or ophthalmology setup will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Baisc Medicine.
