We are looking for an experienced and responsible Safety Officer to oversee and implement health and safety standards at our construction/project site. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable safety procedures, identifying workplace hazards, conducting inspections and risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture among employees, contractors, and site personnel.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in construction safety and be comfortable coordinating with contractors, PMC teams, client representatives, engineers, and project management teams.
Role & responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with construction site health and safety standards and procedures.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Perform risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness programs for workers and contractors.
- Manage and monitor Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Monitor contractors and site personnel to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
- Coordinate effectively with contractors, PMC, and client representatives.
- Prepare and maintain incident and near-miss reports.
- Support and participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to secure working practices.
- Maintain required safety documentation and records.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Safety, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Certification in NEBOSH / IOSH / SBTET or equivalent safety qualification.
