Role & responsibilities

API Design & Standards: Design high-performance RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints using FastAPI, defining transparent OpenAPI/Swagger documentation and schema validations with Pydantic.

- Architecture & Microservices: Build scalable, asynchronous microservices and event-driven architectures. Manage distributed state, Redis caching, and background job processing.
- Database Management: Oversee relational (PostgreSQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB) data modeling, schema migrations, indexing, and query performance optimization.
- Security & Auth: Implement and review authentication and authorization models, such as OAuth2, JWT, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), ensuring data integrity and tenant isolation.

• Code Reviews & Pull Requests: Review complex pull requests, enforce coding guidelines, resolve concurrency/idempotency issues, and validate AI-assisted or AI-generated backend code.

• Team Mentorship: Guide junior and mid-level developers, conduct technical training, and promote best practices in automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.

• Production & Observability: Own platform reliability, structured logging, monitoring, and tracing (e.g., via Datadog or CloudWatch) while troubleshooting difficult production incidents.
