Position Overview

The People Manager Environment & Sustainability will lead and manage a team responsible for implementing BPTP’s environmental, sustainability and ESG initiatives across projects and operations. The role involves strategy execution, team development and fostering a culture of sustainability while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Development

- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing sustainability and setting team.
- Oversee team allocation, performance management and professional growth.
- Implement learning & development programs to enhance technical and soft skills within the team.

2. Sustainability & Environmental Strategy Execution

- Translate organizational sustainability goals into actionable plans across projects.
- Oversee implementation of green building certifications (LEED, IGBC, GRIHA) and other sustainability initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with environmental laws, regulations and internal policies.

3. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

- Collaborate with design, execution, procurement and operations teams to integrate sustainability and environmental best practices.
- Engage with external consultants, regulators and auditors to ensure compliance and adoption of industry standards.
- Prepare and present sustainability performance reports to senior management.

4. Reporting & Compliance

- Monitor key sustainability and environmental KPIs, ensuring targets are met.




- Ensure proper documentation of environmental clearances, audits and sustainability certifications.
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits to identify gaps and implement corrective actions.

5. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

- Introduce innovative solutions for energy efficiency, water management, waste reduction and biodiversity.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelors / Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in sustainability, ESG or environmental management, with at least 3 – 5 years in a management role.
- Experience in real estate, construction or large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, green building certifications and ESG frameworks.
- Leadership, stakeholder management and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
