Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain Elasticsearch indices, mappings, analyzers, and ingestion pipelines
- Write and optimize complex search queries (Query DSL), aggregations, and relevance scoring
- Build and integrate REST APIs to expose search capabilities to applications
- Tune cluster performance indexing throughput, query latency, shard/replica strategy
- Support upgrades and migrations across Elasticsearch versions (7.x 9.x) and manage version-specific breaking changes
- Explore and implement AI-driven search enhancements semantic search, vector search, personalization
- Contribute to agentic AI initiatives integrating LLM-based agents or RAG pipelines with Elasticsearch as a retrieval layer
- Use AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to improve coding, debugging, and documentation productivity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and ship current features
- Monitor cluster health via Kibana/Elastic APM; troubleshoot indexing and search issues
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
- Document technical specifications and communicate with stakeholders on requirements
