ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and driven Oracle CPQ Specialist to join our technology team. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert for our Oracle Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) platform, owning the end-to-end management of product configuration rules, pricing models, and quoting workflows. You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Customer Care, and Finance teams to ensure our CPQ environment is accurate, scalable, and delivers seamless experience for end users.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Configuration & Rules Management

- Design, build, and maintain product configuration models within Oracle CPQ, including product families, attributes, options, and constraints.
- Translate complex product rules and business logic into CPQ-compatible configuration rules, ensuring accuracy across all product lines.
- Manage the upload and deployment of configuration rules into the CPQ tool using BML (Big Machines Language) scripting and Commerce/Library functions.
- Conduct thorough testing of configuration logic before release, identifying and resolving rule conflicts or pricing errors.
- Maintain a clean, version-controlled library of rules and templates to support auditability and rollback capability.

Pricing & Quoting Workflows

- Configure and maintain pricing models including list pricing, volume discounts, partner pricing tiers, and contract-specific overrides.




- Build and optimize quote workflows to streamline approval chains, reduce quote cycle time, and ensure pricing accuracy.
- Collaborate with Finance and Sales Operations to align CPQ pricing outputs with ERP (JDE) and CRM data sources.
- Monitor pricing exception reports and work with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies promptly.

User Enablement & Training

- Act as the go-to resource for CPQ users, providing first-line support, guidance, and troubleshooting assistance.
- Develop and deliver training programs, user guides, and onboarding materials to drive adoption and self-sufficiency.
- Gather user feedback on pain points and inefficiencies, translating insights into actionable system improvements.
- Champion best practices for CPQ usage across Sales, Pre-Sales, and Channel teams.

System Administration & Continuous Improvement

- Administer Oracle CPQ system settings including user roles, permissions, document designer templates, and integration configurations.
- Partner with IT and Oracle support to manage upgrades, patches, and platform enhancements.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes within the quoting lifecycle, reducing errors and improving speed.
- Track and report on key CPQ metrics such as quote turnaround time, approval cycle time, and configuration error rates.





Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work closely with Product Managers to onboard new products and product changes into the CPQ catalogue.
- Liaise with Sales Leadership to understand quoting challenges and prioritize CPQ enhancements accordingly.
- Participate in cross-functional projects including CRM (Salesforce/Oracle Sales Cloud) and ERP integration workstreams.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle CPQ (formerly BigMachines) in an administration or specialist capacity.
- Strong understanding of product configuration principles including constraint-based rules, attribute dependencies, and BOM structures.
- Proficiency in BML scripting, Commerce processes, and Library functions within Oracle CPQ.
- Experience uploading, migrating, and managing configuration rule sets within the CPQ platform.
- Solid understanding of pricing structures including list pricing, discounting models, and approval workflows.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, functional CPQ configurations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to testing and QA.
- Excellent communication skills able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

- Experience integrating Oracle CPQ with Salesforce CRM or Oracle Sales Cloud.
- Familiarity with Oracle ERP Cloud or other ERP platforms.
- Oracle CPQ Certification (Oracle Certified Implementation Specialist).
- Exposure to Agile project delivery methodologies.
- Experience in a SaaS, technology, or manufacturing sales setting.
