Job Description: Field Roadside Assistance (RSA) TechnicianPosition OverviewWe are seeking a reliable, customer-centric, and technically skilled Field RSA Technician to join our emergency roadside response team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for distressed motorists on the field, attending to breakdown bookings for both passenger cars (4W) and two-wheelers (2W).

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundational knowledge of automotive mechanics, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, productive, and courteous service to customers in high-stress situations.

- Key Responsibilities & Duties1. On-Field Breakdown ResponsePromptly respond to emergency dispatch calls and navigate to breakdown locations within the committed ETA.
- Diagnose basic mechanical and electrical issues on-site for both cars and two-wheelers.
- 2. Core Technical ServicesBattery Jump Starts: Safely perform battery health checks and jump-starts on standard, automatic, and hybrid cars, as well as 2-wheelers.
- Flat Tyre & Stephney Replacement: Efficiently jack up vehicles, remove punctured tyres, and install the spare tyre (stephney) according to safety standards.
- Minor Mechanical Repairs: Attend to basic issues such as fuse replacements, fluid top-ups, and loose connections to make the vehicle roadworthy.
- 3. Custodian & Specialized ServicesCustodian Service: Securely take custody of the customer's vehicle when it cannot be repaired on-site, ensuring safe handling, proper documentation, and handover to towing units or authorized workshops.
- Fuel Delivery: Provide emergency fuel top-ups to stranded motorists.
- Key Lockout Assistance: Assist with basic vehicle lockout situations where permitted.

Multi-Segment Operations (4W & 2W)Seamlessly manage and attend to breakdown cases for the two-wheeler (2W) segment alongside the primary car segment, utilizing appropriate tools for both vehicle types.
- 5. Customer Service & ReportingReassure anxious customers on the field, maintaining a polite, professional, and empathetic demeanor.
- Use the company mobile application to update job status (Reached, Work Started, Job Completed) in real-time.
- Collect digital signatures, payments (if applicable), and take before/after photos of the service for compliance and quality audits.
- Required Skills & QualificationsEducation: ITI / Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, but candidates with proven practical field experience are highly welcome.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience as a mechanic in a garage, workshop, or similar field RSA role.
- Technical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of basic automotive systems (battery, braking, tyres, electrical circuits) for both cars and bikes.
- License: Must possess a valid Permanent Driving License (both 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler preferred).
- Tools Familiarity: Proficiency in handling standard RSA equipment (hydraulic jacks, wheel spanners, jumper cables, battery testers).
- Key CompetenciesGood geographical knowledge of the assigned local territory/region.
- Basic digital literacy to operate smartphone apps and GPS navigation.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends or night shifts, depending on operational requirements.
- Strong adherence to road safety guidelines and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
