Job Title: Histology Technician III
Location: Salem Pathology Lab
Typical Schedule: Wide-ranging Mondays – Fridays, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Qualifications:
Histotechnician training available HS Diploma or GED, and 3 months related healthcare experience or trade school equivalent
Preferred: Experience as a Histotech or HT (ASCP) eligible
Required: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science

Some duties may include:
Accession specimens for grossing
Gross examination and dissection of skin specimen for tissue processing
Prepare skin tissue specimens for microscopic examination
Process and embed samples
Section paraffin-embedded samples
Prepare reagents, solutions, control slides, and special stains
Accurately label tissue samples and slides
Other duties as assigned, including performing routine maintenance and cleaning, filing slides and blocks
