Job Title: Histology Technician I
Location: Salem Pathology Lab
Typical Schedule: Wide-ranging Mondays – Fridays, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Position Status: Temporary 6-month role with potential for long-term employment based on business needs and evaluation

Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED, and 3 months related healthcare experience or trade school equivalent
Preferred: Experience as a Histotech or HT (ASCP) eligible

Some duties may include:
Accession specimens for grossing
Prepare skin tissue specimens for microscopic examination
Accurately label tissue samples and slides
Possible crossing training in processing and embed samples, sectioning paraffin-embedded samples, and preparing reagents, solutions, control slides, and special stains
Other duties as assigned, including performing routine maintenance and cleaning, filing slides and blocks
