The Java Software Developer will play a pivotal role in the lifecycle of GE Vernova’s Grid Automation Software Configuration Tool (SCE). In this position, you will be responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining this mission-critical desktop application to ensure peak performance for our users. A key focus of this role is the adoption and integration of AI-powered development workflows; you will leverage cutting-edge AI coding assistants to accelerate feature development, automate testing, refactor complex legacy code, and drive continuous improvement in our software architecture.

Key Responsibilities –
Application Development:



Design and code high-performance desktop tool features using Core & Advanced Java with artificial intelligence tools to automate UI (frontend + backend) design and speed up coding, testing practices.
UI/UX Implementation: Create responsive and intuitive graphical user interfaces (GUIs) using Swing, Java.
Testing & Debugging: Write unit tests, run integration tests, execute sub-system checks, optimize memory usage and fix software bugs.
System Integration: Connect desktop tool modules to packaged databases or remote servers, REST APIs using widely Project object models & velocity templates.
Maintenance: Optimize legacy desktop code, reduce memory leaks, and upgrade runtime environments (JRE/JDK). Maintain code check styles, formatting and refactor older codebases.
Collaboration: Work with QA/V&V; teams, product owners, architects and stakeholders to refine & develop an productive tool having reliable features.
Documentations: Update/Create technical guides including Specs, HLD, LLD, Class level diagrams and
