Role & Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of elective and emergency general surgeries including hernia repair, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and GI procedures.
Lead pre-op evaluations, surgical planning, intra-op decision-making, and post-op recovery management for adult and pediatric patients.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and ICU teams to ensure seamless perioperative care and reduce complications.
Document surgical outcomes, maintain accurate patient records, and contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives.
Train junior surgeons and medical officers; mentor residents during rotations and provide clinical supervision.
Adhere to national and international surgical guidelines, infection control protocols,



and patient safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
MBBS + DNB/MS General Surgery from a recognized medical board (NBE/MCI/NMC)
Active registration with State Medical Council
5+ years of post-qualification experience in general surgery
Proven experience in laparoscopic and open surgical procedures
ACLs certification or equivalent advanced life support training
Experience managing surgical emergencies and trauma cases
Strong knowledge of surgical protocols, sterilization, and operating room safety
Fluency in English and one local Indian language for patient communication
Preferred
Fellowship in Surgical Oncology, Trauma Surgery, or Minimal Access Surgery
Experience in rural/semi-urban hospital setups
Publications or participation in surgical quality audits
