The candidate will be responsible for reviewing ambulance transport documentation, assigning accurate medical codes, ensuring compliance with payer guidelines, and supporting timely claim submissions and reimbursements.
Preferred candidate profile
Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in Ambulance Coding.
Certification such as CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS, CCA, or CPMA preferred.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II codes, and ambulance billing guidelines.
Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance coding requirements.
Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Knowledge of claim denials, appeals, and reimbursement processes.
Solid attention to detail and analytical skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel and healthcare coding software.
