About the Engagement

We are looking for an experienced SAP MDG / S/4HANA Data Migration Consultant with strong hands-on experience in end-to-end SAP S/4HANA data migration, data mapping, ETL transformation, SAP BODS, data loading, data quality, cleansing, reconciliation, and cutover activities.

The consultant will work closely with business, functional, technical, security, and compliance teams to ensure data migration activities are delivered accurately and within project timelines.

Key Responsibilities S/4HANA Data Migration

- Manage the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA data migration lifecycle, including:
- Planning
- Data assessment
- Extraction
- Transformation
- Loading
- Validation
- Reconciliation

- Support migration activities across project phases and environments.
- Ensure migration activities align with agreed project deliverables and timelines.

Data Mapping & ETL
- Drive data mapping and transformation activities.
- Develop and support ETL processes, with strong focus on SAP BODS.
- Analyze source-to-target data requirements.
- Identify transformation rules and data conversion requirements.
- Work with functional teams to resolve mapping gaps and data issues.

Data Loading & Technical Troubleshooting
- Execute and support data loads using tools and methods such as:
- LSMW
- LTMC
- Related SAP migration methods

- Troubleshoot technical issues encountered during data loads.
- Analyze load errors and coordinate resolution with technical/functional teams.
- Support repeated/mock loads as required during migration cycles.

Data Assessment & Quality
- Perform data assessment and profiling to evaluate:




- Data readiness
- Completeness
- Consistency
- Data quality

- Identify data quality issues and migration risks.
- Identify opportunities for data cleansing and enrichment.
- Work with business and functional teams to define and execute data cleansing activities.

Defect Management
- Support migration-related defect management.
- Perform timely triage and root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate defect resolution with relevant teams.
- Track issues through to closure.
- Ensure critical migration defects are addressed before key project milestones.

Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work effectively with:
- Business teams
- Functional teams
- Technical teams
- Security teams
- Compliance teams

- Coordinate dependencies and ensure migration deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Participate in project discussions and provide migration-related inputs.

Cutover & Go-Live
- Plan and execute data migration cutover activities.
- Coordinate mock loads and cutover rehearsals.
- Define and track cutover checkpoints.
- Perform pre- and post-go-live data reconciliation.
- Support final migration validation and go-live activities.

SAP MDG Governance
- Provide guidance on SAP MDG processes relevant to data migration.
- Ensure data governance standards are considered throughout migration activities.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to align migration activities with established MDG processes.

Required Skills & Experience Must Have




- Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA data migration.
- Proven experience in data mapping and ETL transformation.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP BODS.
- Experience with LSMW and LTMC or related SAP data loading methods.
- Experience troubleshooting technical data-load issues.
- Good understanding of SAP programs and tables.
- Ability to debug SAP-related issues when required.
- Strong understanding of data assessment and profiling.
- Experience driving data cleansing and enrichment activities.
- Solid defect management and root-cause analysis experience.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting security/compliance requirements.
- Experience planning and executing cutover activities.
- Strong experience with data reconciliation.
- Good understanding of SAP MDG processes and data governance.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be able to independently manage the data migration lifecycle from:

Data Assessment Mapping Extraction Transformation BODS Data Load Validation Reconciliation Cleansing Cutover Go-Live

The role is primarily focused on SAP S/4HANA Data Migration and SAP MDG/Data Governance, rather than general SAP functional consulting.

Contract & Billing

- Engagement: Contract / Project-Based
- Billing: Hourly / Daily / Monthly based on agreed commercial terms
- Location: India
- Work Mode: Remote / Hybrid
- Duration: Project-dependent, with potential extension
- Working Hours: As per agreed project requirements

Priority will be given to candidates with strong hands-on SAP S/4HANA data migration, SAP BODS, data mapping/ETL, data quality, cutover, reconciliation, and SAP MDG experience.
