Job Purpose

To operate, monitor, and maintain cutting machines to produce materials according to production specifications while ensuring quality, productivity, and safety standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate cutting machines as per production schedules and work instructions.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, cutting plans, and job orders.
- Load, align, and secure raw materials before starting machine operations.
- Adjust machine settings to achieve accurate dimensions and quality requirements.
- Monitor machine performance and make minor operational adjustments as needed.
- Inspect finished products using measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
- Identify and report machine faults, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Minimise material waste and optimise machine efficiency.
- Maintain accurate production, inspection, and maintenance records.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organised work area using good housekeeping practices.

Qualifications





- ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Production, or a related technical field.
- 1–3 years of experience operating industrial cutting machines in a manufacturing environment.

Skills & Competencies

- Knowledge of cutting machine operations and safety practices.
- Ability to read technical drawings and production instructions.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges.
- Basic troubleshooting and machine maintenance skills.
- Valuable attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and meet production targets.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts when required.

Working Conditions

- Manufacturing or fabrication shop-floor environment.
- Prolonged standing and manual handling of materials.
- Use of PPE is mandatory.
- Shift work and overtime may be required based on production needs.
