Description

The Production Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end manufacturing operations for system integration, assembly, packing, and dispatch of telecom products. The role ensures seamless conversion of PCBA cards received from Contract Manufacturers and mechanical chassis received from vendors into finished products through controlled manufacturing processes. The Production Manager is accountable for meeting production plans, ensuring zero-defect execution, maintaining MES and SAP compliance, achieving operational excellence, and driving readiness for Prototype, Pilot, and Mass Production phases.

Responsibilities

- Own and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Lead system integration, product assembly, inspection, packing, and handover to Finished Goods (FG).
- Ensure manufacturing activities are executed as per approved SOPs, work instructions, and quality requirements.
- Drive productivity improvements while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
- Monitor production output, WIP, bottlenecks, and resource utilization.
- Ensure timely material availability for production through close coordination with Warehouse, SCM, and Planning teams.
- Manage production order execution in SAP PP.
- Ensure accurate BOM adherence and consumption during manufacturing.
- Monitor material movement, traceability, inventory accuracy, and shortage management.
- Ensure timely closure of production orders and reporting in SAP.
- Drive manufacturing traceability and process compliance.
- Ensure strict adherence to MES workflows across assembly, inspection, testing, packing, and dispatch processes.
- Ensure production records are maintained accurately and completely.
- Monitor MES transactions and resolve execution gaps.
- Ensure zero-defect manufacturing through process adherence and robust quality controls.
- Work closely with QA teams to drive defect prevention, containment, and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements and internal standards.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and cost.
- Lead assembly, integration, and packing teams to achieve production objectives.
- Manage manpower planning, shift operations, and skill development.
- Establish performance expectations and monitor team productivity.
- Drive employee engagement, discipline, safety culture, and continuous learning.
- Train and mentor engineers, technicians, and operators.
- Ensure readiness and maintenance of assembly lines, workstations, tools, fixtures, and packing infrastructure.
- Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, ESD, and safety practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of Telecom Product Manufacturing and System Integration.
- Hands-on experience in Assembly, Integration, and Production Operations.
- Valuable understanding of SAP PP, Production Orders, and BOM Management.
- Experience in MES-driven manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of NPI, Prototype, Pilot, and Mass Production processes.
- Strong understanding of Quality Systems, CAPA, ESD, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Expertise in production planning, material flow management, and inventory control.
- Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and execution abilities.
- Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, IE, QA, SCM, and Warehouse teams.

Qualifications

Experience: 8-12 years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing, Telecom Equipment Manufacturing, System Integration, Assembly Operations, and Production Management, including experience in NPI, Pilot, and Mass Production environments.

Qualification: Diploma/BE / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
