Your Responsibilities

Architect and deliver foundational Node.js services and REST APIs built to accommodate growth from the ground up.

Take full ownership of system architecture spanning service boundaries, data flow, caching, queueing, failure modes, and scalability.

Deliver AI/ML-driven features leveraging LLM and agentic capabilities.

Integrate LLMs and agentic tooling throughout the SDLC, spanning design, code generation, testing, and debugging.

Structure data effectively and tune SQL/NoSQL query performance; establish connections with external vendors and platforms.

Address production challenges, champion system reliability, and establish the technical standards your engineering team will adopt.

Requirements

- Demonstrated strength as a Backend Node.js Developer
- Mandatory (Experience 1) – Minimum 7+ years of direct Backend Engineering experience with Node.js, creating production systems serving B2C audiences at significant consumer volume
- Mandatory (Experience 2) – AI-native approach to engineering: actively incorporates LLMs and agentic tooling throughout the SDLC, spanning design, code generation, testing, and debugging
- Mandatory (Experience 3) – Full ownership of backend architecture spanning greenfield initiatives; capability to establish foundational architecture decisions and evaluate service boundaries, data flow, caching, queueing, failure modes, scalability, and reliability trade-offs within practical constraints
- Mandatory (Experience 4) – Thorough grounding in backend fundamentals including API development, service-oriented architecture, data structures, algorithms, and clean coding practices
- Mandatory (Experience 5) – Proven track record designing, building,



and sustaining APIs and backend services, coupled with experience integrating external systems and third-party platforms
- Mandatory (Experience 6) – Extensive experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), encompassing proficient data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Mandatory (Company) – Background with B2C product companies and startups operating at meaningful consumer scale; experience in WealthTech, FinTech, or high-growth consumer products is highly preferred
- Mandatory (Stability) – Consistent career progression demonstrating secure tenure at previous employers; frequent job transitions will disqualify candidacy
- Mandatory (AI Product) – Shipped production features incorporating LLMs and agentic workflows to end users
- Mandatory (College) – B.Tech or Dual degree (Btech and Mtech or Integrated Msc/MS) from Tier 1 Engineering Institutes (IITs, not NITs); candidates from alternative institutions considered only if coming from elite product organizations
- Mandatory (Compensation Alignment) – Comfort with compensation approach where the company matches your current CTC and offers ESOPs, with no salary increase
- Mandatory (Exclusion) – Not currently employed at Stable Money
- Mandatory (Note1) – Readiness for seed-funded WealthTech startup environment, characterized by rapid change and evolving priorities
- Mandatory (Note2) – Member of core founding engineering team; office-based, 5 days weekly; prepared to own backend systems end to end and establish technical standards
- Preferred (Note) – Prior founding engineer role or early-stage startup experience is a plus
