AI Engineer Job Description

Role Summary

We are looking for a junior–mid level AI Engineer to help build and deploy AI agents and generative AI solutions using Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and related Azure services. The ideal candidate should bring hands-on engineering skills, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly while working with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and configure AI agents using Azure AI Foundry and Azure OpenAI.
- Implement prompt engineering, agent orchestration, and easy reasoning and summarisation workflows.
- Build and maintain RAG pipelines (embeddings, vector search, data indexing).
- Integrate AI solutions with APIs, internal applications, and enterprise data sources.
- Support model deployment, testing, optimization, and monitoring.
- Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to documentation and best practices. More than 50% of the code is expected to be written with AI tools.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to understand requirements.

Required Skills

- Experience with Azure AI services such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI,



Cognitive Search, or Azure ML.
- Good understanding of LLMs, embeddings, vectors, and generative AI concepts.
- Programming skills in Python (primary) or C#.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, cloud deployments, and Git-based development.
- Basic understanding of machine learning fundamentals and evaluation techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; willingness to learn and experiment.

Nice-to-Have

- Experience with LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or agentic frameworks.
- Knowledge of vector stores (Azure AI Search, Pinecone, Qdrant, Redis).
- Exposure to Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and/or CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of Responsible AI and governance principles.

Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, AI/ML, Data Science, or related fields.
- 1–4 years of experience in AI/ML, cloud engineering, and software development.

Azure AI certifications (AI102, DP100) are a plus.
