We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale a core backend engineering team. This role combines solid technical leadership with people management, owning both backend architecture and team growth for high-performance, scalable platforms.
Key Responsibilities
People & Team Leadership
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing backend engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Own the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
Conduct regular one-on-one discussions to provide feedback, coaching, and support, helping engineers grow into senior technical leaders.
Delivery & Execution
Own and drive the delivery roadmap for core backend services and APIs, ensuring timely delivery with high quality and SLA adherence.
Partner closely with Product Managers to plan sprints, estimate efforts, and manage priorities in an Agile environment.
Identify delivery and process bottlenecks and implement improvements to engineering velocity, including build times, deployment pipelines, and code review cycles.
Stakeholder Management & Communication




Act as a key interface between engineering and cross-functional teams such as Product, Customer Success, Sales, and Leadership.
Translate complex backend architectures and technical trade-offs into clear, business-oriented insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Provide transparent progress updates, manage expectations, and align delivery timelines with business goals.
Technical Strategy & Architecture
Provide hands-on technical oversight of backend architecture, with a strong focus on Java, Spring frameworks, and event-driven systems.
Champion best practices in backend development, including API design standards, microservices architecture, and workflow orchestration.
Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and security by proactively managing technical debt and driving infrastructure improvements.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience as an Engineering Manager leading backend or platform teams
Strong background in the Java ecosystem and Spring Framework
Deep understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures
Experience building and scaling microservices-based platforms
Strong people leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
