Roles and Responsibilities

- Build and uphold company-wide Data Governance frameworks, governance policies, and organizational standards that support strategic business requirements
- Oversee Microsoft Purview collections, accounts, and RBAC configuration; fine-tune operations across large-scale settings (50TB+)
- Construct metadata stores and curate enterprise business glossaries including comprehensive data dictionaries
- Configure ingestion pipelines using PowerShell, ADF, REST APIs, and Azure Functions
- Establish Data Classification protocols and apply sensitivity labels (PHI, PCI, PII); connect to DLP, MIP, and Insider Risk Management systems
- Establish performance metrics and analytical dashboards to assess data quality standards across organizational divisions
- Steward business glossary in partnership with domain owners and stewards; enforce governance approval workflows
- Streamline governance operations by leveraging Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and PowerShell scripting
- Establish reporting dashboards for governance audit logs, Metadata Management coverage, and compliance documentation
- Coordinate with business stakeholders, IT, legal, and compliance divisions to define and execute role responsibilities

Requirements





- Proven track record as a Data Governance professional with demonstrated expertise in enterprise-scale Microsoft Purview implementation and governance architecture
- Mandatory (Experience 1): Minimum 7+ years working in data governance and data management roles, including at least 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Purview administration
- Mandatory (Experience 2): Demonstrated ability to formulate, execute, and embed an enterprise-wide data governance framework encompassing strategic direction, governance policies, and compliance-aligned standards
- Mandatory (Tech skill 1): Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Purview including expertise with accounts, collections, RBAC, Data Classification, DLP, Unified Catalog, Data Map, eDiscovery, Compliance Manager, and lifecycle and records management—preferably in deployments exceeding 50TB+
- Mandatory (Tech skill 2): Expertise in Metadata Management, Lineage Mapping (including ADF → Synapse → Power BI flows), Data Classification methodologies, and security governance spanning PII, PHI, PCI, sensitivity labels, and MIP and DLP technologies
- Mandatory (Tech skill 3): Hands-on experience implementing governance solutions using Informatica, Collibra, Atlan, or IBM IG platforms

Proven capability integrating governance frameworks with Azure ecosystems (Data Lake, Synapse, SQL DB, Power BI) and Snowflake infrastructure, using automation through REST APIs, PowerShell, ADF, and Azure Functions
- Mandatory (Tech skill 5): Track record establishing and monitoring data quality KPIs and dashboards, executing data remediation workflows, and administering business glossaries with domain stewardship, approval automation, and Metadata Management auditing
- Mandatory (Compliance): In-depth understanding of HIPAA, SOX, CCPA, and GDPR regulatory frameworks and compliance obligations
- Mandatory (Skill): Capability to translate technical governance architecture into business outcomes and compliance requirements; experienced collaborating cross-functionally with IT, business, legal, and compliance stakeholders; skilled in driving governance awareness programs and organizational change initiatives
- Mandatory (Company): Background in B2B Software, B2B Tech, or B2B Consulting sectors
