Job Description
We are looking for an L1 PostgreSQL DBA with 2+ years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration and production support. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring database environments, handling basic troubleshooting, and supporting day-to-day database operations.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor PostgreSQL databases and ensure database availability and performance.
Perform basic database administration and production support activities.
Monitor database health, CPU, memory, disk space, connections, and database sessions.
Handle user creation, access management, roles, and permissions.
Perform basic backup and restore activities.
Monitor scheduled jobs, replication status, and database alerts.
Troubleshoot basic PostgreSQL issues and escalate complex issues to the L2/L3 DBA team.
Perform database health checks and routine maintenance activities.
Monitor logs and identify database errors or performance issues.
Support incident, request, and change management processes.
Maintain proper documentation of incidents, changes, and database activities.




Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams for database-related issues.
Required Skills
2+ years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration .
Good understanding of PostgreSQL architecture and database concepts.
Knowledge of SQL and basic query troubleshooting.
Experience with PostgreSQL monitoring and performance monitoring.
Knowledge of backup and restore procedures.
Understanding of users, roles, privileges, and access management.
Basic knowledge of replication and high-availability concepts.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work in a production support environment.
Positive to Have
Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
Knowledge of PostgreSQL tools and utilities such as psql, pg_dump, and pg_restore.
Exposure to monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
Basic understanding of cloud database environments.
Candidate Profile
Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.
Comfortable working in a 24x7 production support environment, if required.
Willing to work from the Navi Mumbai location.
Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period would be preferred.
