THE ROLE

As the fund scales, we are seeking a qualified senior individual to own the fund accounting and regulatory compliance function end-to-end — from books and NAV through financial reporting, audit, taxation and SEBI compliance. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role in a lean, rapid-moving environment, with explicit scope to shape processes and controls and to build a team over time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fund Accounting & NAV

• Own end-to-end fund accounting for the AIF and its schemes, maintaining books of account in line with Ind AS and the fund's accounting policies.

• Prepare, review and finalize periodic NAV computations; validate portfolio valuations, income and interest accruals, fee accruals and expense allocations.





• Maintain investment registers, investor capital accounts and capital-account statements; account for drawdowns, investments and distributions across instruments (structured credit and growth).

• Compute and review management fees, hurdle/carry and performance-fee mechanics, and distribution waterfalls.

Financial Reporting & Audit

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements of the fund and trust, and supporting schedules and management MIS/dashboards.

• Own the annual PPM compliance audit and coordinate statutory, internal and tax audits; act as primary liaison with auditors and close observations.

• Prepare Quarterly Compliance Reports (QCR), trustee reports and periodic returns with accuracy and on time.

Regulatory & SEBI Compliance

• Ensure ongoing compliance with the SEBI (AIF) Regulations, 2012, the PPM, Trust Deed, Investment Management and Contribution Agreements and other fund documents.

• Maintain the compliance calendar and prepare/file periodic regulatory reporting and filings with SEBI and other authorities as applicable.

• Monitor investment conditions and restrictions (investment limits, concentration, tenure, leverage) and proactively flag potential breaches.

• Support KYC / AML / CFT obligations for investors and coordinate with legal counsel and compliance advisors on regulatory developments.

Taxation

• Manage fund- and investor-level taxation, including income characterization, withholding-tax and issuance of investor tax statements (Form 64C / 64D, as applicable under the pass-through regime).

• Coordinate income-tax filings, TDS and GST compliance as applicable to the fund and manager.

Investor Operations & Reporting

• Support capital calls and drawdown notices,



distribution computations and periodic investor statements and reporting.

• Respond to LP and investor queries on accounting, tax and compliance matters with accuracy and professionalism.

Service Providers, Controls & Process

• Manage relationships with fund administrators, custodians, RTAs, bankers, tax advisors and auditors; oversee outsourced deliverables and controls.

• Establish and continuously improve accounting processes, SOPs and internal controls; drive automation of NAV, reconciliation and reporting workflows.

• Support new scheme/fund launch — account opening, service-provider onboarding and design of operational flows and controls.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Chartered Accountant (ICAI), qualified — strong academic record preferred. Company Secretary as an additional qualification (preferable).

• Minimum 7 years' experience in fund accounting of Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) in India, ideally across Category I and/or II funds.

• Hands-on experience with NAV computation, fund financial statements, SEBI AIF regulatory reporting and audit coordination.

• Working knowledge of Ind AS, the SEBI (AIF) Regulations and income-tax provisions relevant to AIFs (including the section 115UB pass-through regime).

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Strong command of fund-accounting principles, Ind AS and the AIF regulatory framework.

• Proficiency with fund administration / accounting systems (e.g., Geneva or equivalent) and advanced MS Excel; familiarity with reporting automation an advantage.

• Sound understanding of capital calls, drawdowns, distribution waterfalls, and management- and performance-fee computation.
