JOB DESCRIPTION

The Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, analysing, and overseeing the construction of various structural systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver safe and effective structural solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Analysis:

- Develop detailed structural designs for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
- Perform structural analysis using engineering software and manual calculations to ensure compliance with safety and design standards.
- Create and review structural drawings, specifications, and design reports.

2. Project Management:

- Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other professionals to integrate structural designs with overall project plans.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget constraints.
- Coordinate with contractors during construction to resolve design issues and ensure the structural integrity of the project.

3. Compliance and Quality Assurance:

- Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., local building codes, international standards).




- Conduct site inspections to verify that construction is proceeding according to design specifications and standards.
- Perform quality assurance checks on completed designs and construction work.

4. Innovation and Improvement:

- Stay updated with advancements in structural engineering techniques, materials, and technologies.
- Propose innovative solutions to improve the efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness of structural designs.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal design processes and methodologies.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering/ Masters in Structural Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or higher qualification is a plus.
- Experience: 3 to 7 years of experience in structural design engineering, with a proven record of accomplishment of successful projects.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.

Skills:

- Proficiency in structural engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SAP2000, ETABS, RISA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of current engineering standards, building codes, and regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
