Robotics Engineer Intern; Robot Development Integration and Testing

Job description:

Role: Support design, assembly, programming and testing of Integra’s robotic arms, manipulators and mobile robots under senior engineers. Assignments will match your strengths in mechanical, electronics or software engineering.
Project experience: No prior employment required. At least one practical college, personal or competition project in robotics, automation or mechatronics, with a demonstrable individual contribution.
Qualification: Pursuing or recently completed B.E./B.Tech in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science or a related discipline.
Work arrangement: Full time internship, work from the office; supervised lab and workshop assignments.

Scope of responsibilities:

Assist with robot assembly and integration of joints, grippers, sensors, wiring and controllers using approved drawings and procedures.
For mechanical assignments, create Fusion 360 models, mounts and drawings; check dimensions, clearances and assembly fit with engineer review.
For electronics or software assignments, support sensor/motor interfaces, basic firmware, Python test scripts or ROS 2 nodes under supervision.
Run supervised motion, payload, repeatability and endurance tests; record measurements, flag anomalies and help reproduce and diagnose faults.
Assist camera setup, sensor calibration and data logging; label task outcomes and maintain separate autonomous and teleoperation records.




Maintain BOMs, assembly notes, code revisions and test reports. Follow lab procedures and seek engineer approval before energising or operating hardware.

Software and technical experience:

Entry requirement: Practical familiarity with at least one workflow: Fusion 360 CAD; MCU programming using Arduino IDE or STM32CubeIDE; or Python/C++ development.
Relevant tools: Fusion 360, KiCad, Python/C++, Ubuntu/Linux, ROS 2, OpenCV and Git. You will learn the tools relevant to your assigned project.

Must have qualifications:

A working project, prototype or simulation that you can demonstrate and explain, including your contribution and a problem you resolved.
Practical ability in at least one area: mechanical CAD, embedded electronics or robotics programming, supported by project files or a demo.
Ability to troubleshoot methodically, document results, and follow laboratory safety procedures and engineering instructions.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with Fusion 360 assemblies, production drawings, 3D printing or prototype fabrication.
Experience with Arduino, ESP32 or STM32 projects involving sensor interfaces, encoder feedback or motor control.
Experience with ROS 2, OpenCV, Gazebo/MuJoCo, robot data logging or Git collaboration.
