Job title: Azure PostgreSQL Managed Services Administrator

Role Summary

We are seeking an Azure PostgreSQL Managed Services Administrator with experience in Azure DataOps, Azure administration, and database management. The role requires knowledge of cloud data warehousing, Azure services, PostgreSQL, database optimization, and related administration activities.

Responsibilities

- Support ETL/integrations with Azure for cloud DW.
- Work with Databricks and Synapse.
- Support Azure administration and Azure Services.
- Manage KeyVault and Secret Management.
- Support database query optimizations and fine-tuning.
- Manage database tiering and SKUs for cloud environments.
- Manage database schemas, structures, and users.
- Apply SDLC and CI/CD understanding in day-to-day activities.
- Support networking activities with a basic understanding of networking concepts.
- Support Linux/Windows administration where applicable.
- Participate in weekend rotations as required.

Requirements





- Strong understanding of Azure DataOps, including ETL/integrations with Azure for cloud data warehousing.
- Experience with Databricks and Synapse.
- Experience with PostgreSQL (must have); MSSQL experience is nice to have.
- Understanding of SDLC and CI/CD; specific processes and tools can be taught.
- Understanding of Azure Services, including Key Vault and Secret Management, with basic networking knowledge.
- Experience with database administration, including query optimization and fine-tuning, cloud tiering and SKUs, schemas and structures, and user management.
- Linux/Windows administration experience is advantageous but not required.
- ITSM background is an advantage.
- Robust communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate information clearly.
- Ability to work weekends as part of a rotation.
