Role Description The Guest Relations Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based at our Rishikesh hostel. This team member is responsible for welcoming guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, and ensuring a smooth, friendly, and efficient experience throughout their stay. Daily tasks include responding to guest inquiries, handling bookings and reservations, resolving concerns, and coordinating with housekeeping and operations to maintain high standards of cleanliness and comfort. The role also involves promoting hostel activities,



local experiences, and events, as well as sharing information about nearby attractions to enhance guest stays. The Guest Relations Specialist represents the Shalom Backpackers brand with professional, positive communication and helps foster a warm, community-focused atmosphere.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Guest Relations and Customer Service skills, with a focus on creating welcoming, supportive experiences for diverse travelers.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Customer Experience skills to clearly address guest needs and consistently improve the quality of their stay.
- Candidates should possess basic Sales skills to promote hostel services, activities, and local experiences in a helpful, non-pressuring manner.
- Candidates should possess robust interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Relevant experience in hostels, hotels, or travel/hospitality settings is beneficial, along with proficiency in English and Hindi; additional languages are an advantage.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree or certification in hospitality, tourism, or a related field is preferred.
