The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh anticipates recruiting for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank with an expected start date of Fall 2027.
We will be seeking candidates in all areas of Environmental Engineering including, but not limited to, design and implementation of processes and technologies for resource recovery, subsurface remediation, and indoor/outdoor air quality. We are especially interested in researchers who employ interdisciplinary approaches and innovative methodologies for urban resilience. Applicants must hold a PhD in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
Applicants should also have a viable plan to develop and sustain a strong, externally funded research program, the ability and desire to contribute to the teaching mission of the Department's undergraduate and graduate programs and commitment to support service in the Department, the Swanson School of Engineering, and the University of Pittsburgh.
