About the Opportunity
A fast-scaling AI innovation firm specializing in domain-specific large language models (LLMs) and generative AI solutions for life sciences and zoological research. We build and deploy custom AI agents and knowledge graphs trained on taxonomic, ecological, and behavioral datasets to serve academic institutions, wildlife conservatories, and biodiversity tech startups. Our remote-first team operates at the intersection of zoology, natural language processing, and enterprise AI delivery. Role & Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end delivery of AI/LLM projects tailored to zoological use cases—from data ingestion and model fine-tuning to deployment and performance monitoring.
- Translate zoological research requirements into actionable AI workflows, working closely with data scientists, NLP engineers, and domain researchers.
- Manage cross-functional remote teams, set sprint priorities, track milestones, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery using Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Oversee prompt engineering, RAG architecture, and vector database design (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone) aligned with zoological taxonomy and conservation data models.
- Document model performance, bias mitigation strategies,



and compliance with ethical AI guidelines specific to wildlife and species classification domains.
- Bridge communication between technical teams and zoology stakeholders—ensuring AI deliverables are scientifically valid, interpretable, and operationally deployable.

Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have

- Project Management (Agile, Scrum, Jira, Confluence)
- AI/LLM lifecycle (prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, evaluation)
- Vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, Chroma)
- LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face)
- Basic understanding of zoological taxonomy or biodiversity datasets
- Stakeholder management for scientific/academic teams

Preferred

- Experience with wildlife or conservation AI use cases
- Familiarity with NLP in life sciences (PubMed, GBIF, BioBERT)
- Knowledge of ethical AI principles for biodiversity applications
