Job SummaryThe Cashier is responsible for facilitating fast, accurate, and pleasant checkout experiences for DMart customers. This role involves scanning items, processing various forms of payment, and ensuring billing accuracy while minimizing customer wait times.
- Key ResponsibilitiesScan items quickly and accurately at billing counters using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Handle cash, debit/credit cards, UPI, and digital wallet transactions securely.
- Ensure accurate change is returned and issue transparent, valid receipts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked checkout area (e.g., carry bags, receipt rolls).
- Address customer inquiries politely and direct complaints or price discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Perform daily cash reconciliation at the opening and closing of shifts.
- Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: 10th or 12th pass minimum.
- Experience: Freshers welcome; prior experience as a retail cashier or in cash handling is an advantage.
- Skills: Basic arithmetic, familiarity with computer/POS operation, speed, and attention to detail.
- Attributes: Customer-oriented, honest, and comfortable standing for extended periods.
