Reports To: Managing Partner

Denplex Engineering Company is looking for an experienced Production Manager to take complete ownership of our Vatva plant. This is a management role, not a programming role. You will lead a technical team — CNC programmers, designers, and machine operators — and must have sufficient technical depth to independently evaluate their work, validate their estimates, and resolve problems on the shop floor without depending on any single person.

The role also owns customer enquiries and quotations, ERP discipline, and ISO 9001:2015 documentation for the plant.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Oversight & Team Supervision

- Lead and supervise CNC programmers, design engineers, and machine operators
- Independently review CNC programs and machining approaches; verify tool path logic, tool selection, speeds, feeds, and machining strategy are sound
- Critically assess cycle time estimates and setup time claims against realistic benchmarks
- Validate whether reported machining problems — tool breakage, surface finish issues, dimensional deviation — reflect genuine technical constraints or avoidable errors
- Question, challenge, and approve technical decisions taken by the team
- Resolve disputes between programming, design, quality, and production
- Identify skill gaps and arrange training where required

Enquiry Handling & Quotations

- Receive, review, and technically evaluate customer enquiries and drawings
- Assess manufacturing feasibility against available machines, tooling, and plant capacity
- Build accurate cost estimates covering material, machining hours, tooling, setup, outsourcing, and overheads
- Cross-check machining time inputs provided by the programming team before they enter a quotation
- Issue quotations within committed turnaround and maintain a quotation register
- Follow up on pending quotations and convert enquiries into confirmed orders
- Compare actual job cost against quoted cost after completion and investigate variances





Vatva Unit Operations

- Hold overall responsibility for daily plant operations, output, and discipline
- Prepare and control production schedules based on order book and machine capacity
- Allocate jobs across 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machines for optimum utilisation
- Monitor WIP, machine loading, and spindle hours; identify and clear bottlenecks
- Ensure raw material, tooling, fixtures, and consumables are available before job start
- Control rejection, rework, and scrap; drive root cause analysis on repeat issues
- Manage manpower allocation, shift planning, attendance, and productivity
- Enforce housekeeping, 5S, and workplace safety standards

Design Review & Manufacturing Problem Solving

- Read and interpret customer drawings, 3D models, and GD&T; requirements
- Review jig and fixture designs proposed by the design team for accuracy, repeatability, cycle time, and operator safety
- Judge whether a proposed fixture or design approach is genuinely necessary or unnecessarily complex and costly
- Diagnose manufacturing problems and determine whether the cause lies in design, programming, tooling, material, or operator method
- Drive value engineering to reduce cost and improve manufacturability
- Maintain drawing control — revisions, approvals, and correct issue to shop floor

ERP & Systems

- Ensure accurate and timely data entry across the ERP system — job cards, material issue, production booking, and dispatch
- Generate and interpret ERP reports on production, costing, inventory, and job status
- Use ERP data to track job profitability and machine performance
- Enforce ERP discipline across the team so records reflect actual shop floor activity

ISO 9001:2015 Documentation & Quality

- Maintain all plant-level ISO 9001:2015 documentation — procedures, work instructions, formats, and records
- Ensure production records, inspection reports,



and traceability documents are complete and current
- Support internal audits and external certification audits
- Raise, investigate, and close non-conformances with effective corrective and preventive action
- Review and update SOPs and quality records as processes change

Vendor & Customer Coordination

- Manage job work and outsourced operations — heat treatment, grinding, plating, fabrication
- Evaluate and develop vendors on quality, delivery, and cost
- Coordinate with customers on technical clarifications, drawing revisions, and delivery commitments
- Report plant performance, order status, and cost variances to management

Required Skills

- Robust working knowledge of CNC and VMC machining processes and programming logic (ability to read, review, and evaluate programs , writing programs is not required)
- Sound understanding of 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining capability and limitations
- Ability to read drawings, 3D models, and GD&T;
- Understanding of jig and fixture design principles
- Cost estimation and quotation preparation
- ERP systems — production, inventory, and costing modules
- ISO 9001:2015 documentation and audit handling
- Process planning and cycle time assessment
- Metrology and inspection methods
- Advanced MS Excel

Candidate Requirements

- 5 – 7 years in a precision machining or engineering manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3 years managing a production team with independent decision-making authority
- Enough hands-on background in machining to evaluate technical work critically — you must be able to tell a genuine constraint from an excuse
- Demonstrated experience preparing costings and quotations for machined components
- Practical working experience with an ERP system
- Hands-on involvement in maintaining ISO 9001:2015 documentation and facing audits
