Job SummaryThe Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care to patients. The role involves patient assessment, preparation for diagnostic procedures, monitoring patients, assisting doctors and maintaining accurate clinical records while ensuring compliance with infection-control and patient-safety standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Patient Care

- Receive and assess patients professionally and courteously.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as BP, pulse, temperature, SpO₂ and respiratory rate.
- Provide appropriate nursing care before, during and after procedures.
- Identify changes in the patient's condition and promptly inform the concerned doctor.
- Provide basic first aid and emergency support when required.

2. Diagnostic Procedure Support

- Prepare patients for procedures such as CT, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray, cardiac and other diagnostic investigations as applicable.
- Explain procedures and provide necessary pre- and post-procedure instructions.
- Assist doctors and technicians during procedures whenever required.
- Ensure patients are appropriately positioned and prepared for examinations.

3. IV Cannulation & Medication

- Perform IV cannulation as per established protocols.
- Administer prescribed medications and injections safely.
- Assist with contrast administration where trained and authorized.




- Observe patients for adverse reactions and immediately report any complications.

4. Emergency & Patient Safety

- Recognize medical emergencies and initiate appropriate first-response measures.
- Assist in CPR and emergency management as per training.
- Ensure emergency equipment and medicines are readily available.
- Follow patient identification and safety protocols at all times.

5. Infection Control

- Follow hand-hygiene and infection-control practices.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures and IV access.
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per applicable guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the nursing area.

6. Documentation

- Maintain accurate nursing records, patient observations and procedure-related documentation.
- Record medications, vital signs and other relevant clinical information.
- Ensure proper documentation of adverse events and incidents.

7. Patient & Attendant Communication

- Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients and attendants.
- Address routine patient queries and coordinate with the concerned department.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and skilled ethics.

8. Coordination

- Coordinate effectively with radiologists, doctors, technicians,



front-office staff and other departments.
- Support smooth patient flow and minimize waiting time.
- Participate in shift handovers and communicate important patient information.
- QualificationsB.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing registration with the applicable State Nursing Council.
- Current registration and required professional certifications.
- Experience0–5 years of relevant experience in hospital, diagnostic centre or clinical environment.
- Freshers with appropriate clinical training may also be considered.
- Required SkillsGood clinical and patient-care skills.
- Knowledge of basic emergency management and CPR.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays when required.
