- Implement and monitor HSE (Health, Safety & Workplace) requirements at the railway project site.
- Ensure compliance with Indian Railways safety rules, project specifications, approved safety plans, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments and identify unsafe conditions and practices.
- Prepare and implement Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment, Method Statements, and Safety Checklists for various construction activities.
- Monitor safety during excavation, earthwork, concreting, reinforcement, structural works, lifting operations, welding/gas cutting, working at height, and machinery operations.
- Ensure proper safety arrangements during work near running railway tracks, P-Way activities, traffic blocks, line crossings, and railway possessions, as applicable.
- Verify availability and proper use of PPE, including helmets, safety shoes, reflective jackets, gloves, safety harnesses, goggles, and other activity-specific PPE.
- Conduct Tool Box Talks (TBT), safety inductions, training programs, and awareness sessions for workers, supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor deployment and safe operation of JCBs, excavators, cranes, lifting equipment, compressors, generators, concrete equipment, and other construction machinery.
- Ensure proper barricading, signage, access/egress, lighting, housekeeping, and emergency arrangements at the worksite.
- Maintain records of daily safety inspections, toolbox talks, safety training, PPE issuance, equipment inspections, and corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences and prepare incident/accident reports with corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with Railway officials, PMC/Consultants, Project Managers, Site Engineers, P-Way staff, subcontractors,



and other stakeholders regarding safety requirements.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with project-specific HSE requirements and railway safety procedures.
- Monitor compliance with work permits, lifting plans, excavation permits, electrical safety requirements, hot work permits, and work-at-height requirements, wherever applicable.
- Conduct emergency preparedness activities and coordinate mock drills, first-aid arrangements, fire safety, and emergency response procedures.
- Ensure safety-related observations raised by Railway/PMC authorities are properly recorded, rectified, and closed within the required timeframe.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports/MIS to project management.
- Maintain all required safety registers, inspection records, statutory documents, certificates, and HSE documentation.
- Required SkillsGood knowledge of Railway Construction Safety and HSE practices.
- Knowledge of safety requirements for ROB/RUB, bridge, track, earthwork, and civil construction activities.
- Knowledge of Risk Assessment, JSA, Method Statements, PTW, Toolbox Talks, and Safety Audits.
- Ability to identify hazards and implement appropriate risk control measures.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and preparation of safety reports/MIS.
- Ability to work independently at a railway project site and coordinate with multiple agencies.
- PreferredExperience in Indian Railways / Railway Infrastructure / ROB / RUB / Bridge Projects.
- Knowledge of railway traffic blocks, working adjacent to running lines, OHE/electrical safety, and P-Way safety requirements.
- Safety certifications such as NEBOSH / IOSH / ADIS / Diploma in Industrial Safety will be an advantage.
- Candidates with experience in handling safety requirements for major civil/railway construction projects will be preferred.
