Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Workday Integration Engineer to design, build, and optimize secure, high-volume data pipelines. The ideal candidate will architect complex programmatic transformations, connecting Workday cleanly with third-party networks, benefits providers, and external payroll engines using Workday Studio, EIBs, and Core Connectors.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy complex integrations using Workday Studio, custom transformations, and multi-step assembly components.

- Build out-of-the-box data pipelines using Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs), Core Connectors, Cloud Connect for Benefits (CCB), and Cloud Connect for Third-Party Payroll (CCPP).

- Write custom data transformation mappings utilizing XSLT, XPath, MVEL, and Java within integration assemblies to translate disparate payload structures.

- Expose and consume programmatic endpoints, constructing custom data serialization loops using Workday Web Services (WWS), REST APIs, SOAP, and custom RaaS (Report-as-a-Service) templates.





- Apply strict data security standardizations, configuring custom PGP encryption blocks, digital certificate authentications, and secure SFTP file delivery routing.

- Diagnose and optimize integration performance bottlenecks, addressing processing time-outs, high-volume document parsing blocks, and Web Service call throttling limits.

- Lead update regression validations for semi-annual platform releases, testing complex integration code paths across developer sandboxes to prevent deployment breakage.

Requirements

- 4 to 8 years of core middleware or enterprise integration engineering experience, with 4+ dedicated years actively writing custom technical data transformations inside the Workday ecosystem.

- Solid technical mastery of Workday Studio development tools, advanced XSLT processing engines, XML/JSON parsing, and calculated fields.

- Deep structural understanding of synchronous vs. asynchronous web service calls, API governance limits, and object relationship mapping conventions.

- Mandatory certification: Workday Certified Integration Utilities OR Workday Certified Integration Studio.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience managing large-scale system migration data loading tracks using advanced loading utilities or custom API loading loops.

- Familiarity with third-party external cloud integration brokers like MuleSoft, Boomi, or AWS event-driven frameworks interacting directly with Workday endpoints.
